Spotlight on Dissemination: AgriPV-Nexus Takes the Stage at International, National, and Local Clean Energy Events

Throughout September 2026, the AgriPV-Nexus project achieved widespread visibility across global, national, and community platforms. Representing project partner Istanbul Gedik University, Prof. Dr. Tanay Sıdkı Uyar led a series of keynote addresses and technical sessions to showcase how agrivoltaics and digital innovations are driving climate-smart agroecology across Mediterranean farming systems. These are as follows:

Global Clean Energy Outreach in Guangzhou, China (16–18 September 2026)

From 16 to 18 September 2026, Prof. Uyar represented Istanbul Gedik University and EUROSOLAR Türkiye at the 18th Solar PV & Energy Storage World Expo and the Asia Wind Energy Conference & Expo, held at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou. In addition to delivering a keynote address on renewable energy integration, Prof. Uyar presented AgriPV-Nexus at the EUROSOLAR Türkiye exhibition booth. Clean energy stakeholders and international visitors explored project posters detailing how agrivoltaic dual-use land strategies, rainwater harvesting, and digital decision tools enhance farm resilience and advance the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem (WEFE) Nexus.

Driving Policy & Digitalisation in Istanbul (22 September 2026)

On 22 September 2026, Prof. Uyar presented the project during the Energy Commission Information & Evaluation Session, hosted by the TMMOB Chamber of Electrical Engineers Istanbul Branch. The session brought together key regional decision-makers and engineers to explore how integrating solar energy with sustainable farming can support local digitalisation, accelerate national climate targets, and directly align with the ambitions of the European Green Deal.

Community Engagement at the Turkish Living Lab in Havran, Balıkesir (25 September 2026)

Bringing the project’s vision directly to local communities, an outreach event organised by Havran Municipality on 25 September 2026 welcomed approximately 60 university students, faculty members from the local university and municipality staff. Prof. Uyar presented the AgriPV-Nexus initiative and its practical field implementation in Taşarası village, located in the Havran district of Balıkesir, which serves as the location for the project’s Turkish Living Lab. The presentation linked real-world agricultural field trials with broader policy frameworks, including the European Green Deal, the EU Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), and regional WEFE Nexus governance.

By engaging international industry leaders, national engineering bodies, and local rural communities, AgriPV-Nexus reinforces its commitment to a participatory Multi-Actor Approach (MAA). Cross-border knowledge sharing ensures that scientific progress in agrivoltaics translates into practical, community-owned solutions for smallholder farmers across the Mediterranean.
